Dr. Michael J. Sumko, is a board-certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon that specializes in total knee and total hip replacement. He offers conservative treatment options to treat hip and knee arthritis and provides outpatient total joint replacement with minimally invasive muscle sparing techniques. These techniques allow for a faster return to activities and require little to no pain medications.
Dr. Sumko participates in patient shared decision-making, fully educating the patient about their condition and options, thus allowing the patient to make an informed decision towards improving their health. He has a special interest in helping the retired armed forces community and serves patients at the
VA hospital. Dr. Sumko enjoys sports, especially high school and college football. He played Division I football at Brigham Young University and has completed a two year church mission in Puerto Rico. Dr. Sumko is fluent in Spanish.
